Fiona and Tucker have known each other for as long as they can remember. They both share the same godmother and grew up on the same street. As you can imagine, this wedding was pretty special for both families who are quite close and there were a lot of tears. To make things even more sentimental, Fiona chose to have their wedding at the summer camp where she spent her summers growing up. They unintentionally pulled off a “Moonrise Kingdom” wedding complete with dinner served out of a canoe! They were so kind and welcoming I felt like a guest the whole time. A lot of love went into this one and I am so happy I was the one to document it.
I think a big reason I love to photograph weddings is all of the excitement that I get to be a part of. Everyone is so happy and I am in the center of it. I can go into a wedding feeling tired or mellow but by the end of the day my adrenaline is pumping and I feel energized. Lisa and Anders had me feeling all of it. The two of them had so much fun together and it was infectious just being around them. They were so easy to laugh and really knew how to enjoy their time together. I have only photographed a handful of weddings so far this year but I can already tell I am going to have a lot more couples like this one and I cannot wait.
